WELSH SOCIETY SCHOLARSHIP: For many years our Gulf Coast St. David's Welsh Society has offered a scholarship to scholars in members' families. Tell your student relative that the application is on the Sarasotawelsh.com website and he or she must follow all directions on the so as not to be disqualified due to an omission. Completed applications should reach David Rees before the January Annual Meeting.
The Requirements are:
(1) The student must be the child or grandchild of a member in good standing in the Society. The member must be a dues paying member for three consecutive years and attend at least one function a year.)
(2) The student must attend an accredited university or college and not previously been awarded a Scholarship from the Sarasota Welsh Society.
(3) Applications must be submitted BY December 31 prior to the applicable year. Applications received after this date cannot be considered until the following year. Awards for the successful recipients are announced at the St. David's Day Banquet.
